Sun, Animals and Some Large Extinct Things

It was Saturday. It was gorgeous outside for the first time in perhaps weeks. We hadn't done anything fun together just us as a family of four for what seemed like forEVER. What to do?
Who wants to see some bears...

big cats...
and baby elephants??

WE DO! WE DO!
Now show me some excitement!

'Twas somebody's naptime...not that it mattered to him.

There were dinosaurs to be seen!

Excited...but also a little bit nervous about the not-real-but-still-very-large-and-loud-and-big-toothed machines. I mean dinosaurs.

We trekked through the mist (aaaahhhhh - that's background music for y'all)...

and found prehistoric crocodiles eating fish!

And then - DUN DUN DUUUUNNNNN - we were attacked!

Henry just looked that dino in the eye and told him he was loud. Snap!

AND THEN WE WERE ALMOST EATEN ALIVE!!!!

Henry made it out okay, though...

and played some drums in celebration.

Then we watched this guy
watch his ladies fight.

One of those ladies told us to mind our own business,

so we went and played peek-a-boo elsewhere.
Operation: naptime, success! So what if it's two hours too late!

Of course, one cannot stay asleep when he smells the aroma of lunch!
Please sunshine, come back. We would like to have more days like this. Next time, maybe mommy can hold the camera so we can have proof that the man of the house was with us!
Side note: the dinosaur exhibit was pretty cool! We had to pay $10.50 for our whole family and we'll only go the one time, but I think it is worth it if your kid loves dinosaurs.

Oh... great pictures, and I like when Jim has the camera because he captured some beautiful shots of you and your boys. I esp. love the last one of you and Wyatt, I think that one needs to be framed. Glad you had some time to be together.

Nothing like family days! My best memories and conversations come from those kind of times. Sounds like it was awesome(:

Love Love Love the commentary on the great photos. I agree with butters - good to see shots of Mama! We miss the sun, too. Can't wait for summer to show up. I am running out of creative indoor activities. Pretty sad when the kids no longer want to go to OMSI or the Children's Museum AGAIN. So happy to get our money's worth from the family passes, but sheesh. Enough with the 50 degrees and RAIN.
