Autumn

Wow. This is a lot of leaves.

We should really pick these up, dad.

DAD!!! Not cool.

I think I'll play over here instead.

Don't you just LOVE Fall??

PS Sarah - this is the jacket I was telling you about! Doesn't he look like a miniature one of our husbands (minus the big poof on top of his head)? :)

Blustery Day

Is it just me or did the weather go "POOF!" and change 30 degrees overnight? Not that I'm complaining. I like the colder weather and I'd rather nature water my lawn than us. :)

Today started out with Henry losing his balance on a frisbee and falling forward on the desk. This resulted in bleeding right below and right above the right eye. Let me tell you, it must have felt pretty bad, measuring how loud and long Henry wailed. Very sad. As soon as I was confident there was no eye puncture, Henry was ready to play again. Whew!

For lunch, we had grilled cheese! It was Henry's first time b/c I forget that there is such a thing in the summer. He loved it. Surprised? Anyhow, it's been awhile, so I thought I'd post some pics. Especially for the family members who don't get to see him often.

Can you see his sad eye?

It was time to go outside for a bit. Henry picked out a scarf.

I swear, the moment we step outside, our neighbor's kitten runs right over. He's cute. And he follows Henry everywhere.

This is what Henry does the entire time we're outside. He picks up rocks.

All the food and fresh air pooped him out and now he's is sleeping. I'd better go get some things done!

Our Sunriver vacation

Jim, Henry and I had a wonderful 4 days in Sunriver! We had such a good time just being together with no schedules and lots of time to play. We went on long bike rides (to get donuts!), hiked down into the lava caves nearby, visited Bend and got to see so much of the beauty of the place including a lot of deer, squirrels, horses, bunnies and geese. Here are some pics of our time:
Henry is ready to be there! (is that a goofy pic or what?)
Fighting traffic on the way

These are pics of our backyard! WOW!

Here's me enjoying a yummy treat after our looong bike ride
No donuts for Henry. He gets graham crackers.
Henry loooved getting away from us whenever he could. Walk, walk, walk in the other direction.
It was very cold in the mornings (30 degrees!), so Henry got bundled!
Jim and Henry in the lava caves which were really cool...except we had to carry Henry the whole mile in and mile out (when I say "we" I really mean Jim...who rocks) :)
It was great to see Henry take in all his surroundings. There was so much to see and hear and he had fun pointing at everything.
On a walk in the back of the house.

My serious guys...
Being silly!
I just love my family!

Packing

No purpose for this blog entry except to post a couple pics from today as we're packing up for Sunriver. Henry has been so funny following me all around the house as I pack this and that. He seems to think it's a fun game. Here's how he plays: Mom makes a pile. Henry destroys the pile. Mom packs some toys in a bin. Henry opens the bin and throws the toys all over the room. You get the picture. FUN! :)

This is a pic of him following me. It turned around real fast and snapped it so you could feel the action.

Henry lo-o-oves his bike helmet. I had it in one of my "piles" and he begged me to put it on him. He literally walked around the house for about 20 minutes with it on. He cracks me up!

See you next week, Bloggers!

14 Months!

Henry turns 14 months old today! When do we stop counting in months? Hmm. To celebrate the coming of fall (yah!), we played in the leaves that have already fallen in our yard yesterday. Henry lo-o-o-ves to crunch the leaves and would clap for himself after a big crunching. :) What a nut. Couldn't resist some pictures!

Point taken. Put down camera. Play with son. :)

My Morning by Henry

I was walking around the kitchen...

and I fell...

and busted my lip!

Now I look so sad! I'm not letting mom ice it though.

Time to wake up!

One of my favorite things is when Henry is sleeping so hard during his nap, that I have to go in and wake him up. Don't think he's always this sweet when I wake him up...sometimes he screams at me, but most of the time he makes me chuckle. I was lucky the other day when I thought to bring the camera in with me.

Snore....

Gasp - you startled me!

Do I get to play now, Mama?

Awh shucks. I love this kiddo.

Morning coffee

These pictures are especially dedicated to my dear mother, who cannot live without her coffee. :)

Mmmm...just what I needed to wake up.
More, please!

Lip-smacking delicious!

Oi. A bit of grounds there at the end.

Can you drink coffee with a straw?

All growed up

No pictures today, but I wanted to share some cute/funny things Henry has done lately:

1) He tried to reach out and touch my coffee and I said, "No. Hot." He then started to blow on my coffee. :)

2) Henry loves airplanes. Living so close to the Hillsboro airport, we hear them go by all day long. If we're inside and hear a plane flying overhead, Henry will go to the nearest window and look out in hopes he may spot it. He calls it "pay."

3) Little Einsteins was on the TV this morning and there were some cows on the screen not making any noise and Henry said, "ooooh." He meant, "moooo." I think.

4) I have always enjoyed playing "airplane" or "choo-choo" with Henry's food - not that he wouldn't eat it otherwise. Anyhoo, now Henry tries to play it with me. He grabs a fist full of whatever is on his tray and moves his hand in circles towards me going "Bbbrrr" (or however you spell that sound).

5) Henry can whistle better than me. We have no idea how he learned to do this. Jim whistles at him a lot, but seriously, that is a skill I still haven't learned!

5) Oh yeah, and Henry is walking.

My Meme

The Meme Rules:

1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/stories about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Here we go:

1. I am extremely outspoken and live what one might call an open-book life. I will share almost anything with anyone, which is why this "Meme" thing is a little difficult for me (trying to think of things unknown to most). I don't know why I am this way. My mother is the queen of discretion, which I evidently did not pick up. If you have known me more than a week, you have probably witnessed me experiencing a foot-in-mouth situation.

2. If I look into a mirror and see an eyebrow hair that needs to be plucked, I cannot focus on anything until I have achieved plucking status. I feel as though a tree is growing out of my face and that is just not comfortable.

3. I had my first kiss a month after I turned 12 (now that my sister is 13, I realize how young that is). My brother's friends (all 8 - 10 yrs) were spying and saw, then ran and told my mom who grounded me. She says it's b/c I lied about it (which, excuse me, but what 12 year old would want to talk about that with their mom?), but I really think it's so she could keep me away from "that boy."

4. I cannot fall asleep unless all my body parts are on the bed and covered up. As a child, I thought something was going to come out from under the bed and attack my foot, so now as an adult, I am freakish about being all covered up when I go to bed. I can't let it go. It really stinks on hot nights.

5. Though I can't remember to do simple everyday things, I can recite almost all of my family and friends' home phones and cell numbers and I next to never use the phone book on my cell. I always dial by hand.

6. I can't do ANYTHING unless the kitchen is cleaned. So annoying.

7. I laughed several times while I was in active labor with Henry. Mostly at Jim. He is pretty funny.

8. Okay, this is gross, but as #1 points out, I'm pretty open. Jen has already been blessed with this information about myself and Jim absolutely cannot stand this. If I am far, far away from my toenail clippers and I get obsessive about a toenail but am watching a good TV show and don't want to go all the way upstairs, I bite my toenail. With my teeth. To my defense, it's an old habit, starting way back when I loved to suck on my toes as a baby. I can't help it. Please still like me.
