More from Orlando...

I thought everyone would enjoy this picture. This is what my mom looks like at work. Cute, eh? Ringlets and all! =) We went to Disney on Saturday with Jaci, Jeremiah and his girlfriend Christy and stopped at the American Adventure to see Grandma sing. As you can see, Henry was so excited, he drooled all over himself. Thanks to Carson for some short sleeved shirts! You might think Henry looks unhappy here, but he is actually overwhelmed. There is probaby 50 people all huddled around and staring and "aaww"ing at him. Here's Henry on Sunday, all ready for church. I wasn't feeling well (which makes sense now that Henry is in the middle of a yucky cold), so Grandma and Grandpa took him to church. Apparently, he was a big hit in the outfit Grandma got him from her favorite store...Gymboree! (You all thought I was going to say Nordstrom, right??)
My mother has this gift...take any screaming, unhappy baby and play pattycake and he will squeal with joy. No joke. It doesn't work as well when I do it! Needless to say, Henry loved playing with Grandma. If you are sitting here in the northwest, you might be wondering why Henry has no clothes on. It was 80 degrees in Orlando. Blech! Oh, and he kept spitting up on all his clothes.
One more pic for now...this is Jeremiah and Christy. Aren't they so cute? We all just loved getting to know Christy - she is such a sweet girl, not to mention fun! And beautiful I might add!

Happiest place on Earth

I have so much more to share in words and pictures but I have so much to unpack and put away! For now, I thought I'd leave you with this shot of Henry in his mouse ears from Grandma being held by a Dapper Dan on Main Street. I don't think I ever appreciated mouse ears fully until now. =)

Yowzers!

This was Henry's reaction when we heard the news today...

4 months
20 lbs. 2 oz.
28 1/4 inches

Okay, it was more MY reaction, though I suspected something as big. I mean, come on....get a load of those cheeks!

He's a healthy, happy boy and he just wouldn't be Henry without the chubby legs! He did pretty good with the shots (so sad - I cried!) and his doctor and nurse both commented on what a sweet, content baby he was. Shucks.

Play with me

Well dad, you see, these are my toys. They're pretty cool. I'll let you play with them if you want. But seriously, try munching on the butterfly. I TOLD you they were cool!

(Okay seriously though, is that not the CUTEST? STOP IT! I'm dying behind the camera lens!)

Ladies...

I know, I know. It's blurry.

Here's a great shot of Henry during his "happy" time Sunday evening...
Oh yeah...my baby loves me. =D

Autumn in Oregon

It's like on the one hand, your lawn is all brown, there was no rain in July and you miss your cold weather clothes...but on the other hand - my pants hems are all wet, our gutters are all clogged and our dog can't go to the bathroom without bringing in the backyard with her. What to do?

Day by day by day by day by day...

So it seems that Henry is learning new things every day. Tummy time is much improved and by jove! What is this? I can put stuff in my mouth??? This was discovered a couple days ago. Henry has also been bearing his own weight standing for the past couple weeks. He looooves to stand. Unless he is hungry. Then he will scream in your face. =) Also, the babe is starting to "hold" his bottle. Okay so he's not really holding it. But it's a start! He's got the right idea and if the bottle's not too full, he can totally hold it on his own. Anyhoo, so here are a few pics of all his new tricks. Isn't it funny how we use baby steps in adult language to mean take small steps toward a larger goal, but in baby terms, baby steps are HUGE!!! Love to all!

I'm not a team member

This blog posting is dedicated to Jen, who released all our long lost comments but has now restricted comments to "team members." I'm not sure what this team is or why I'm not a member but the whole situation is tickling me. That's right. Tickling.

GO TEAM JEN!

Happy Halloween!

Okay, so we only dressed our little guys up so we could take pictures of them. Look how cute they all are! So what if they won't remember it. We will! Henry was a bear, Carson a lion, Ethan a monkey, Nathan an elephant and Silas a cowboy. Here are some pics of the evening...

...and by the time we got home, somebody was spent. Night night.

Just daddy and me

I know it's the same theme as my last post, but can you help it when they're so adorable? Henry pays such close attention to Jim...it's really cute. Oh, and do please notice what everyone is wearing. I seem to recall someone saying THAT would never happen. =) Hee.

Sleep in heeeaavenly peee-eeace

Nothing too exciting to report here.

The fall leaves are pretty.

My baby is cute.

Daytime TV is stupid. Not that I watch it regularly, but what else are you gonna do when you're feeding a baby?

I would like it to snow.

Ode to the husbands of mothers

There's nothing so sweet as having a child
Smiling and cooing with eyes shining wild
They can learn so much in one simple day
Finding things out in their own special way
The mothers, they cry and they squeal and they cheer
For no one's as smart as their sweet, little dear
Toys are selected and books are read
All to make sure that their child is well-bred
Tummy time, batting time, bathing time, sleep
This schedule is one thing the mommy must keep
Her world revolves around each little cry
This bundle of joy, this star in her sky
But then to the point of this poem I must get
Before this poor mommy's brain does forget!
The daddies come home from a long day at work
Their brains need to rest or they will go berserk
But too bad! As soon as they walk through the door
"The baby did this! He did that! Wait, there's more!"
After a whole day with baby, she forgets to say
"I'm so glad you're home" and "How was your day?"
Blubbering on till at last there's no more
She remembers "It's dinnertime!" and moves on with her chore
Daddies are left standing there all confused
I'm sure even some of them feel quite abused
But the thing about daddies that makes them so neat
Is they let all that go and claim their defeat
They pick up their baby, their gift from above
And the household is filled with the sweet sounds of love.
