Firsts

There have been a lot of firsts around here lately. As we move closer to Wyatt's first birthday, it's amazing how many new things we encounter every day. For instance, the reason for this post. Don't ask me how I have managed to bathe him in that little baby bathtub for so long. Ha! Tonight he had his first big boy bath in our home (he had one at Grandma and Grandpa's recently) WITH his big brother. Henry was very excited, but I'm not sure he was prepared for Wyatt's...um...enthusiasm? Good fun, I tell ya.

Here's our precious *little* punky:
And here he is realizing his freedom and sending water 4 feet across the bathroom floor (I kid you not):

Such fun. :)

Are we up to Lynden yet?

This is the question Jim and I heard over and over on the drive up to Grandma and Grandpa Marr's house Thursday evening. Does that really start at 3 years? He tried to change it up a bit with, "Do we go over that hill up there, and then down it, and then we're up to Lynden?" Awesome.
*
Anyhow! We had a great few days with G&G Marr, enjoying a beautiful day at the park, getting to see draft horses perform in a plowing competition (no joke!) in the rain, and as always, great food. My mother-in-law loves me so much, she made special gluten-free peanut butter cookies just for me. That's right. I had a few. Or 15. Who's counting?
*
Henry loves all his grandparents very much and has recently put up a real stink when it's time to leave them (or them leave us). He did it when we left my parents in Orlando and he did it this trip to Lynden. Jim and I got a good laugh out of Grandma chasing Henry in the street to give him a hug, as he ran away from her because he did not want to say goodbye or leave. Ha! Poor kid and his strong (loud) emotions. At least the grandfolks know how much Henry loves them! Henry's attachment to Grandpa may or may not have anything to do with Grandpa giving him not one, not two, but THREE cookies with his breakfast. Who wouldn't love that?
*
Wyatt also had a good time getting LOTS of undivided attention. He loves him some grandma! He got to be held a lot, which is his very favorite thing.
*
Here are some pictures of our trip "up to Lynden." Enjoy!

Oh, and on a side note, THIS happened:

It was also in Lynden that Henry started his creeping/crawling career!

That two minutes of sunshine

was awesome yesterday.

Is anyone else feeling extremely stir-crazy for lack of playing outside? I know that Henry is starting to act up in new ways, probably because he is bored. It's lot of fun, let me tell ya! I cannot play Tinker Toys for one more minute or I will go insane. I need sun. I need playground. I need for toddler to get some fresh air and exercise and mommy to get some breathing time!!!
