Deep thoughts from the bathtub...

Henry (playing with a GI Joe man in the bubbles): Mommy, why does his foot move like this?

Me (bored, let's be honest): Uh...I dunno. The guy who made him just made his foot that way.

Henry: Who made him?

Me: Uh...I don't know, honey.

Henry: Probably God made him.

Me: Well, actually, a person made him.

Henry (looking at me as if I am clearly not well): No, mom. God makes everything. He made aaaaaall the animals. And the moon.

Me: Well, God made the person who made the doll. He makes all the people in the world and he makes our minds and helps us be really creative and make things like dolls. Isn't that nice of Him?

Henry (blank expression): Probably God made him.

Me: Probably.

Some joy for your Wednesday...and bananas

So I've been slowly introducing cereal to Wyatt for the past week and just for fun, I added a teeny bit of smooshed banana to it last night. To say the least, he is very much like his brother in that I can't get it to him fast enough. Please note the grunting.

To end this post I will add, how in the world is Wyatt almost 6 months old? That in itself is crazy!!!

Return of an old friend...

Once, you were a staple in our home.
*
Our friends were drawn to you for comfort and fulfillment.
*
You were dependable and always full of goodness.
*
Always giving, never taking.
*
It's time to renew our relationship.
*
I hope you stick around for awhile.
*
Only one request: Please stay away from my hips.

Our week at the beach in pictures

Well. We just got back from a lovely 5 days at Cannon Beach with Jim's family - an early Thanksgiving get-together, if you will. What fun! There was lots of heavy rain and 65 mph winds, but we had a few sun breaks and an awesome rental to pass the time in. Suffice it to say, Henry and Grandpa played a lot, and I mean a lot, of games (mostly made up) - sometimes the rest of us were called from our positions on the couch to be a part. I believe his favorite was named Superhero Baseball Head. Mmmhmm. Anyhow. We had a great time with Jim's parents and sister and the boys were spoiled with a capital S. :) Wyatt was barely put down all week! I suppose that is what grandparents and aunties are for!

Enjoy!

Aw, shoot. I love him.

Photo shoot attempt #1

One of the top 5 things to do on vacation: eat pie for breakfast!

Did I mention Jim's mom made homemade egg rolls....mmmmmm...
(don't even ask how many Jim consumed)

Captivated by Aunt Kathy

Photo shoot attempt #2
Here's one that's actually pretty good!

And then...
Why does everyone think I'm the weirdo in the family??
Note to self: if desiring to take a photo including smile child (aka baby), do not do it in a room with a fan.
