I just want cute pictures...

know what you're thinking...TWO POSTS IN ONE DAY?!?!?! What has come over me? Truth be told, Henry is wanting to watch videos of himself over and over. How vain.

*

So. These videos were taken the other night when Jim and Henry were playing Mario Kart and they were so cute together - especially b/c Henry thinks he is playing, and keeps saying, "I did it!". So I was able to take a few pics, none of which are stellar, but as soon as I tell Henry to look and say "Cheese!" he turns into the 2 year old he is and is crawling all over me to "see" the camera. Blast technology and the ability to see your pictures immediately! I blame you for my son never taking a normal smiling picture! Here is my evidence!!!

This...is the world I live in. And it is also the reason we haven't done Christmas cards yet (or at all). We. Can't. Get. A. Good. Picture. People will say, "but those are the best kind of pictures!" Oh no, people. You know not what you speak of.

Good day!

Catching up

Well! Once again, I'm trying to play catch up! Though most people who follow my blog will already know this, we are expecting our next child! I am 14 weeks along and all I have wanted to do is sleep, sleep, sleep!! Hence, the no blogging. :) I will attempt to relive the last couple weeks with you through pictures. Enjoy!
*

Jim and Henry got to hang out a lot during all our Christmas performances at church. They went downtown one day and visited a giant Christmas tree in the Pearl...

Doesn't he look like he's aged a couple years??

And of course, Henry's favorite. Some break dancing! Or playing with the video games on the floor of Pioneer Place Mall.

Henry has really enjoyed the tree this year. Here is one of his favorite tree pastimes:

Playing video games!

Serious concentration. Jim doesn't look too confident.

Green popsicles!

On Sunday, it started snowing, so after a couple hours of watching from the warmth of indoors, we headed out to play!

Whee!!!

Unfortunately (for Jim), Henry now thinks that playing in the snow means having daddy pull you around in the sled.

There were more pics here, but after and hour, they're not showing up. I'll get to it later!

Cold days are for Jammies and Puffy Coats!

I know! Honestly, Steph! How hard is it to post pictures?! Well, these are the first pictures I've taken in a couple weeks!!!
*
It is FREEZING outside today and since we had nowhere to go, I let Henry stay in his PJ's all day. Now that's my kind of day! Since it was so sunny, I decided to suck it up and take Henry for a walk. We put on our puffy coats (Henry-his, me-Jim's b/c it goes to my knees!), snow boots and "TRUCK, MOM!" and headed out.
*
Enjoy reliving our morning with us:

What? You don't let your child play in the street?

Awesomest outfit EVER.

It got colder.

Stop taking pictures!

For our family members who don't get to witness Henry's antics every week, here are some updates on toddlerhood in the Marr house:
~~~~~~~~~~
Henry has decided to call us Mom and Dad. We have no idea where he picked this up.
~
Henry spoke thoughtfulness to me twice last week! Once, while I was on a ladder, he said "Be careful, Mommy!" And then, when I cut my finger in the kitchen and yelled out, he said, "Mommy, you okay?" Be still my heart.
~
If I'm doing something he doesn't want me to do at the moment, Henry will yell, "STOP IT, MOM!" Hmm...wonder where he picked that up... ;)
~
We explained to Henry this year about why we celebrate Christmas, and now he tells us that every Christmas decoration in our house - or in the neighborhood, or in Target - is for Jesus. :)
~
Henry always prays for our dinner
~
Now when I read to Henry, I stop at random parts and he'll look at me and fill in the blanks. Sometimes a whole sentence! Of course, these are books we've read to him for a while now, but still!
That's all for now!
Good times with Grandma
My mom was here several weeks ago for an entire week! We had so much fun and did so much stuff all week - it was a blast! Henry was a trooper through all the shopping trips. :) We did make a trip to the children's museum, so he also got some fun in. Here are just a few pics of Henry and my mom together...Henry still has not gotten the hang of how to take a picture, but we got pretty lucky with these.
We miss you, mom!
Love me some Burl Ives
I know, I know. I have totally been lacking in blogging responsibilities lately. Whatever! I'm busy! I'll catch up on some Henry pics soon. For now, I hope you enjoy this post!
There are movies that we all have stored away in our childhood memories, that when they are thought of or seen, make us smile (and okay, maybe cry). Here's a couple songs from one of mine, Summer Magic. Why, I ask, don't they make movies like this anymore? Henry especially loved Ugly Bug Ball. Warms my heart. :) And can I just say how much I love youtube? You can find anything on there!
Puddles and Leaves
Our next door neighbor has this gorgeous tree in their front yard:
It is truly a beautiful sight this time of year and we love it, except for:
As you can see, we get left with a little work. But it's nothing that Henry can't handle! He loves, and let me emphasize LOVES, helping pick up the leaves. Here are some pics from the other day after we waited for hours for the rain to stop, so we could go out and "collect" leaves.
So they were sopping wet...whattayagonna do?
I'm wet. But I'm cute.
Me: Henry, smile!
Henry: Leaves!
Me: Henry, say cheese!
Henry: Leaves!
Practicing his "stance" for the future.
I would not describe myself as the "go ahead and get dirty - live it up!" kind of mom. At all. But sometimes, you just have to let them have these kinds of childhood experiences. And I'm getting better! So I said, let's put on your rainboots and play in the puddles! Yay me!
The Punkamin Patch
That's what Henry calls it. Henry is in love with pumpkins, so it was without huge surprise that he had tons of fun at the Lee Farms Pumpkin Patch on Saturday. Plus, if you say Carson and Ethan will be there, it's like telling me my house is made of chocolate! Here are some pics to tell the story of our day:
SO many pumpkins! How to choose?
Well, this one's kind of lumpy...
Finding treasures
Smile!
Whatever you do, dad, don't put me down.
Sweet baby cows (no, I am not examining his eye)
The Three Stooges
Beautiful mama and her blue-eyed babe!
Sweet! We can pick these ones up!
He's found the PERFECT one.
Piggies!
Another sweet baby cow!
The BunchBunch
The MarrMarr...wait...
Someone had too much fun!
